Meet Our Senior Team

As the owner and managing director, James started his career in the construction industry in the mid-90’s in residential refurbishment before joining Morgan Sindall PLC in 1999 and establishing Stabb in 2004.


James devotes his time to ensuring each client receives the time and attention they require to lay the foundations for a stress-free office relocation/fit out project while building the best team around the client.


When time allows James loves to travel with his family in Italy and Ireland and bowling a few overs for his local cricket club in Hertfordshire. James is a regular lecturer at the University of Westminster Business School.

With a 2:1 degree in Construction Management, Melvin is a member of the CIOB with over 20 years’ experience in commercial design and fit out.


Mel’s passion is to maintain an excellent day-to-day working relationship with each client through open and timely communication during the on-site fit out works and beyond the completion date. Melvin likes to relax with a round of golf and supporting his son play cricket.

Contracts Director

Heads up a team of talented architectural and commercial interior designers. Alli has encyclopaedic knowledge of Building Regulations and a wealth of practical understanding of building construction and detailing, whilst maintaining design flair and creativity to meet each fit out brief.


Alli is a keen cyclist, venturing all over the UK with her son on lengthy off-rode country tracks.


Being a brilliant cook, family and friends enjoy gathering at the Matthews table to refuel with good food and great company.

Head of Interior Design

Stef has over 15 years of furniture expertise and takes responsibility for working with clients on the selection and specification and all furniture requirements as well as the procurement and project co-ordination of the delivery and installation.


Stef lets off steam on his Motorcross bike and likes to keep fit for numerous charitable challenges.

Furniture Manager

Scott has worked in Construction for over 15 years, having worked onsite, then training and qualifying as a Plasterer. His career developed further from the ‘tools’ to his present role of Pre-Contract Manager where he uses his skills in both the Pre-Construction and Delivery.


His hands-on knowledge of construction methods has proved invaluable in delivering projects which meet client business goals, financial requirements, and design aspirations.

Helen Paley, Office Administrator. Most definitely the Stabb’s ‘Go To’ person, ensuring that the Stabb cogs turn smoothly and the office runs like clockwork.


Helen joined the Stabb team from company start-up having previously worked in Nicosia Cyprus, as the Office Manager to the MD of an International Managing Consultancy, and prior to that with KPMG London.


Out of hours, Helen can often be found ‘relaxing’ peddling away in a spin class, or out on long country walks with family and dogs.
